How to Quit Smoking Marijuana

It’s been 64 days since the last time I smoked marijuana. A lot has happened in those days, I got engaged, I won a bet (and lost my six pack) AND I’ve discovered that I have a couple of ‘Super Powers’.
Sounds great, doesn’t it? Who wouldn’t want to have new super powers? Well, I can tell you that these particular super powers aren’t always fun and games – in fact they frequently cause some challenges in my life.
What are these ‘super powers’? I have come to find that I now have super sonic hearing and a way too sensitive sense of smell. Any type of loud noises (except good music) cause issues for me. The worst effect on me personally is people dropping weights (or doing some silly stupid noise making exercises like throwing a medicine ball on the ground) in the gym. It’s actually caused me to change my workout habits and go to the gym at 2:30 am to try to avoid the crowd and bulk of the weight droppers (although they do still show up at 3am too).
As far as my more sensitive sense of smell, the things that bother me most are cigarette smoke (I can smell a burning cigarette a mile away) and certain foods. Interestingly enough, I still LOVE the smell of marijuana – fresh and burning, but it doesn’t do anything to make me want to use it again – or for it to use me.

Today is Day 24 in my personal quest to stop using marijuana. A couple of days ago, I re-injured my neck at the gym and have been in quite a bit of pain. Yesterday, I decided to quit focusing on the pain and do something positive.
Before the holidays and about the time I started this project, I added some goals to my ever-changing list. One of them was to learn how to do yoga. So yesterday I went to the local library and checked out some books and dvds on yoga. Once I digest the information in them, and start practicing a bit on my own – I will start going to the yoga classes at my local gym. Learning and practicing yoga should help me stretch, relax and build more muscle without lifting weights (although I’m going to get back to that as soon as I am physically able to).
