How to Quit Smoking Pot: 11 Month Milestone and Almost a Slip Up

A couple of days ago was the 11 month milestone since I made the decision to quit smoking marijuana. I very nearly slipped up that very evening – and actually may have if 1) I still had a pipe or smoking device or 2) my girlfriend would not have come home in time.

Overall the journey has been pretty trouble free, but this week I was sick, suffering from lack of sleep and still having to work some very long days. Almost a slip up – in fact I brought out some of my old stash and started taking whiffs of it …

In the end, I just decided to wait another day and see if it was something I really wanted to do once I had more sleep. It wasn’t.

A big assist goes to the accountability created by the blog at – it has been a big help to me and if you think it could help you, please send me an email at and I will get you a login.
