How I Quit Smoking Pot: Day 23 What To Do About Pain?
After re-injuring my neck at the gym yesterday, I’m still looking for a reasonable substitution for smoking ‘medical marijuana’ to help me deal with the pain. Pain is never fun (at least for me, I guess there are some people who are into certain types of pain), but when it is constant and chronic and so close to the brain, it gets old very quickly.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to deal with this, I would love to hear them. Many people have suggested that I should just go back to using pot to deal with this pain, as it was fairly effective and definitely not nearly as bad for me as all the prescriptions that the doctors write for me. My answer thus far has been that I’ve been stoned for enough of my life, I don’t want to be stoned for the rest of it.
I’m in search of a reasonable alternative. My best guess is that the answer is acupuncture, but since I am on a very limited (non-existent?) budget right now, I need to continue to search for other alternatives.
Today has been one of those days when I have been tempted to just go to bed, roll up in a ball and pretend that nothing is wrong – but at least I have resisted the temptation – and it is good that I have not felt tempted to go smoke a big, fat joint. Things will get better!
