How I Quit Smoking Pot: Day 33 Acupuncture Takes the Place of MMJ

Today is Day 33 in my personal quest to quit smoking marijuana. My biggest challenge lately is a recurring injury in my neck (two separate herniated discs) that have been causing me A LOT of pain. So much so, I thought I might have to go back to using “Medical Marijuana”.

Fortunately, I’ve been able to avoid that and have found a really good acupuncturist who is helping to relieve the pain. Still far from feeling perfect yet, but much, much, oh so much better. Not even tempted to smoke again. Although it was a little weird grilling on the BBQ on the deck today and not smoking weed. Not sure I’ve ever done that before. I guess there is always a time for firsts. Seem to be a lot more of them lately – and for that I am very grateful.

I should also mention that acupuncture is not just great for getting rid of pain. It has also been very effective in treating all kinds of addictions, in weight loss, and something I just learned this week – it can also help women who are having trouble getting pregnant …

    Hi Lisa – thank you so much for writing! Congratulations on your progress – I'm very happy for you! Hang in there – it gets easier.

    It's huge that you have been able to get off the cigarettes – weed should be easier I would think. I never really smoked cigs, but was a baseball player when I was younger and got hooked on chew when I was in college. Terrible, gross and disgusting habit – I was finally able to give up last year. I think it has been around 18 months or so.

    Thank you for your suggestion of meditation – I'm going to start learning. Thanks again!

    BTW – Acupuncture did save me (again) last week, and I fully recommend it!

    Hi there, Just found you today, Day 12 for me. I quit MMJ On Jan 16, 201, I too started at 14 years old , now at 51 I need to become more emotionally available for my new relationship. Lots to say, really liked all your videos Joe.
    My head was going to explode yesterday and if it was in the house I would have smoked it.
    I am not able to be around it My house always smelled like a Grateful dead show! LOL
    I would recommend meditation to help with your anger and being less reactive. if you want to know more I can post more later. I am going to get massage and acupuncture here in NORCAL lots of options Hang in there. I like your post. I plan to post here often. Thanks for place to share this journey. I want o make it thru today without it. I still want to smoke. I quit cigarettes 8 years ago and then increased pot smoking to everyday 8 years a go. off ciiggys now trying to get off the MMJ.
